Wild Bird Cottage is a beautiful farmhouse-style retreat, perfect for couples, friends, or families seeking a cosy getaway in the heart of the Garden Route. Once an artist’s studio, this private, pet-friendly cottage combines creativity with comfort, adorned with original artworks and offering stunning views of fynbos-covered hills, Rondevlei Lake, and the Outeniqua Mountains.
The cottage features two en-suite bedrooms: one with a luxurious king-sized extra-long bed (convertible to two singles on request), and another with a queen bed plus a sleeper couch suitable for small children. The fully equipped kitchen, lounge, and dining area provide everything needed for a comfortable stay, with Wi-Fi and a smart TV for added convenience.
Step onto the spacious covered deck to enjoy breathtaking views, a gas barbecue, and an enclosed garden complete with a traditional farm fire pit, perfect for magical evenings under the stars. Inside and outside dining areas ensure comfort in any weather.
A short stroll brings you to the shared pool area and scenic farm trails, where you can explore the beauty of the fynbos with your dogs off-leash. Bordering the Wilderness National Park, the farm offers direct access to hiking trails and a serene escape in nature.
Wild Bird Cottage is sustainably powered by solar energy, ensuring a reliable, eco-friendly stay with no loadshedding. Self-check-in is available, and staff are always on-site to assist if needed. Please note that the sleeper couch is only suitable for children.
Absolutely awesome! We LOVED our stay at Equleni Farm. The profile does not do this gem justice! The place is super spacious and extremely well kitted. The on site walks are lovely! Our family and dog can’t wait to return!
It was just what I needed - a lovely mid-year break and my dog was welcome. We loved exploring the area and the walks. I will definitely return!

Second time my family stayed at one of Diane's places and both times we extended our stay and absolutely loved it. peaceful, great hikes on property. Pool with a amazing view. This time we stayed at Wild bird and we all absolutely loved the bird varieties that came to visit. Will definitely be back for a visit whenever we in the area again.
What an absolutely stunning cottage and farm! Two nights weren’t enough, we will for sure be back. As doggie owners that love travelling with our pups, we really appreciated that the place was outstandingly pet-friendly with cute local pup-friendly recommendations too!A true gem!
A beautiful cottage on a farm about 10miles from Wilderness. Peaceful and fabulous for birdwatching. Everything you need for a comfortable stay with lots to do in the surrounding area. Would highly recommend a stay a Wild Bird Cottage
This is the perfect family hideaway surrounded by beautiful countryside and close to amenities and local beaches and hiking spots. We extended our stay as we loved it so much. It's very good value and Diane and team are very accommodating.
