FARM TRAILS

Our guests and their furry friends can enjoy the tranquil natural landscape of Equleni through our farm trails.

Sandy, fynbos paths, colourful shrubbery and the Elephant Pond (perfect for dogs to swim in) make for an enjoyable short walk. Our farm map is located in each cottage to help you navigate the various trails, which have been thoughtfully designed to incorporate the natural animal tracks on the farm.

While the trails are relatively easy to navigate, it’s important to exercise caution while walking on sand and to watch out for mole holes. Don’t be surprised if your foot suddenly disappears down a sandy hole!

We kindly ask that you wear shoes when walking anywhere on the farm. We are in a remote, natural part of South Africa so you may encounter some critters along your walks! You may also see some tortoises and, if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of some bush buck. You’re sure to see many animal prints along the way too.

Your dogs are welcome to join you off the leash within the farm boundary, but we kindly request that you refrain from taking them beyond the fence into the Wilderness National Park as it is not pet-friendly.

WILDERNESS NATIONAL PARK

Equleni neighbours the Wildness National Park, home to the Rondevlei Bird Hide and Cape Dune Molerat Trail. The nature reserve (trails, bird hide and lake) is protected land, so unfortunately no dogs are allowed. Guests have direct access to both these beautiful activities directly from the farm – just a short 1km walk away.
