Equleni Guest farm is a 21-hectare Eco-estate located in the serenity of the Garden Route, where fynbos, milkwood and yellowwood trees decorate the landscape in abundance. With uninterrupted views of the marvelous Outeniqua mountains and the Wilderness National Park, Equleni is a true Eden nestled alongside the Rondevlei and Langvlei lakes – befitting its name “Peace by the water”.
Equleni is perfectly situated almost equidistant between the two popular coastal hubs of Knysna and George, near the slow town of Sedgefield. Being just over 2 kms from the N2, one may revel in the ‘best of both worlds’ – a comfortable distance from the bustle of in-season crowds and the convenience of having stunning beaches, quaint local village shops, restaurants and markets, and outdoor activities, like hiking, canoeing, biking and paragliding spots, at one’s fingertips.
At Equleni, the charming main farmhouse is an original 1820s settlers’ cottage, whilst the graveyard of some of the initial settlers remains on the farm. The guest cottages are enchanting new additions to the farm, which are the beautifully styled ‘homes away from home’ with all the modern comforts.
The owners, Diane and Ant, live in the main farmhouse with their 3 dogs and 3 cats. After retreating from the buzz of Johannesburg corporate life, they now live at a slower, more mindful pace at their peaceful Equleni haven. They love sharing their special piece of paradise with local and international visitors and, accompanied by their warm and welcoming team, they are always available to help.
Diane runs a personal development business and occasionally offers yoga, meditation, and detox retreats and workshops on Equleni’s tranquil soil.
Ant runs off-road motorcycle tours, both locally and into Africa, and hires out motorcycles to those who are keen for a classic Garden Route adventure.
